PAGEANTIsland memang suka melihat wanita memakai saree. Saree yang labuh serta panjang menyebabkan seorang wanita kelihatan lebih anggun serta melambangkan kelembutan si pemakai. Dipertandingan Miss India Malaysia 2012 baru-baru ini, para peserta telah memakai antara saree yang terbaik. Mari kita lihat beberapa peserta yang sempat PAGEANTIsland rakamkan.

Angel, antara peserta yang agak pemalu, saree kuning beliau antara yang paling menarik perhatian.

Eveangeline was among my favorite because she was among the best in catwalk department. She was full of confidence and really enjoying the event.

Ah!, Sarmila was always my favorite that nite. She has this cameleon gorgeous look, cleverly putting on that bindi, hand bracelet and the green saree fit her amazingly!...amazing! amazing!.

Kanimolly was among the lovely face contestants here but how I wish she could wear strong color saree that night which could enhance her overall stage presence.

(my personal opinion), this was the best saree in the competition to me. Despite being white in color, yet the most outstanding even at first look. Nithya certainly knew how to chose the best saree for her skin tone and overall persona.

Here's the diva of all, this simple looking saree did not reduce the queen aura Sharmisttha had. Talking about looking gorgeous despite being simple.

The X Top Model Malaysia The X Secret Party was held recently and what a party it was!, the show and everything there in the party was awesome and concept no one ever think of. Here we look at the super structure of the venue at Kenang Wholesale Center, Kuala Lumpur.. Magnificent!.

The Sponsors' side promotional areas were among the best attraction at the event. The organizer cleverly utilizing the many empty spaces surrounding the main stage to give more value to sponsors. A first event concept for sure would be copied by many other events. See photos below.

Yogash Yogg is among hardcore beauty pageant fans in Malaysia. His first appearance was at Queens Bay Mall while attending the audition for Miss Universe Malaysia 2012, not that he came for audition but was there to show his support for the event and to meet his idol Deborah Henry, Miss Universe Malaysia 2011. Since that moment, he has been spotted at every happening events in Kuala Lumpur which featuring Miss Malaysias.

This was Yogash Yogg's first time visiting The Beauty Queens Gallery at Pantai Cenang, Langkawi last week. The photo above was he at the main gallery area. I was told by the owner of the gallery mr Amir, "I should have tapped his reaction when he first stepped in!, hilarious!, crazy scream and all!, hahaha".

Yogash was also sms-ed me telling he was about to faint looking at the huge collection available here, and trying his best to absorb everything. He was so eager to introduce this place to his friends and beauty queens who he knows.

He was not really going to a press conference actually, haha, because this direction is heading to the queen's toilet! (photo below).

A 23-year-old Wisconsinite beauty queen Laura Kaeppeler from Kenosha won the Miss America 2012 title in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson came in second, while Miss New York Kaitlyn Monte placed third.

All the 50 states plus District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands participated in the pageant. The finals night contest began with the selection of Top 15 which include Laura while the other 14 are as follows: Miss South Carolina Bree Boyce, Miss Louisiana Hope Anderson, Miss California Noelle Freeman, Miss North Carolina Hailey Best, Miss Tennessee Erin Hatley, Miss Alabama Courtney Porter, Miss Arizona Jennifer Sedler, Miss Illionois Hannah Smith, Miss Virginia Elizabeth Crot, Miss Texas Kendall Morris, Miss Iowa Jessica Pray, Miss New York Kaitlin Monte, Miss Florida Kristina Janolo. The Miss America winner is not expected to compete internationally. It's rival pageant Miss USA is the one sending the American delegate to Miss Universe. Miss America and Miss USA have both different approaching in selecting its winners but comparison between the two is sometimes inevitable. Miss America styles itself as a scholarship program and well in fact, Miss USA was created because of the refusal of Miss America 1951 Yolande Betbeze to pose in swimsuit publicly. Rivalry between the two pageants had been a fodder for American pageant fans. Well in fact the reigning Miss USA Alyssa Campanella's tweet "Congrats to Miss Wisconsin, now Miss America. Touching we both won on the same exact stage and took our 1st walk on the same runway! :-)" was misconstrued by the public as a form of sarcasm.

The Miss India Malaysia 2012 talent day was awesome! This event was held recently at Hotel Sentral right at the back of KL Sentral monorail station. Families and friends of the contestants were all here bringing banners and screamed support to their favorite girls. I was here on the invitation of the MIM 2012 organizer to be one of the judge for the event.

Each of the girls gave the best performances whether dancing, singing or even story telling. The best part about this event to me was the support showed by the parents and friends. Everyone enjoyed every moment and even the food served was very good too!.

I want to thank you again to mr Rupanand Palaniandy and his team for graciousness and kindness for inviting me. Thank you again. See you guys again on January 27 at the grand finale.

Asian delegates are very strong in this year's edition of Miss Tourism International. Leading the way is Miss Thailand, who is by the day, her growing aura and star pulling power has made her the front runner for the main title.

Miss Korea can be considered as dark horse in this competition. Her unique look has made her favorite to many pageant fans, and hopefully, the pageant judges would agree.

Miss Turkey is hot!, she is as good as when she is not using make up, just gorgeous.

Miss China is another favorite this year. Though still very young at 17, she has the won the pageant fans attention here as she has the cutest look and very friendly persoality.

Miss Philippines has a huge fan base here as many Philipinos are living in Malaysia.She is alos among the cutest contestants, and could make her way to the top 5.

I love Miss Vietnam. She has this cute and beautiful tag around her and could pull a surprise at winning this pageant as she spoke very eloquent American English, good catwalk and not to mention her beautiful smile. I put her as among my personal favorite to win this event.

Miss Mongolia is Miss Posh of the competition. She knows how to give great pose and smile for the camera and also friendly. It will not be a surprise if she made it to the top 5 too, just like last year.

Miss Singapore has won as many as two subtitile award in this competition and that can be consedered as many. She is already a huge favorite in this contest and I wish her the very best of luck. Top 10 is already in her hand.

Miss Malaysia is beautiful and also a huge favorite. Since Malaysia never win this competition, there is huge burden on her shoulder to create history for our country.

When I first saw her parading in cocktail and evening dress at the Miss Poh Kong Glamor on Dec 18, I thought wow!, Miss Kosovo is amazingly beautiful and she got this X-factor look!, As we know that Kosovo has always been very strong in Miss Universe as the national director always managed to find the right girl with super look and this one is also one of them.

Then managed to meet her in person for a private interview. Her name is Albulena Mazreku, Miss Tourism Kosovo, despite representing Kosovo, she is actually lives in Holland. She was there helping to do translation for Miss Brazil and when I ask her, Kosovo is a muslim country?, and she said yes!, then she asked me back, are you a muslim?, yes was my definite answer of course, and she greeted me with assalamualaikum!

Whether this contest can accept a muslim as its winner is remain to be seen but after meeting and talking to her personally I think, she has what it takes to be a winner as she is friendly, can speak many languages especially English fluently and not to mention her amazing super look!.

The set was staged for the Miss OverTime Fresh Face 2011 subtitle, among the subtitle awarded in the Miss Tourism International 2011 system. It was held at its new outlet in Jalan Genting Kelang, just next to soon to be opened Columbia Hospital.

Below are some of photos I managed to capture at some of the contestants who posed before the judges at the event which was won by Miss Singapore, Amanda Leong. Despite the cheers was not as loud when her name was called as the crowd clearly favors Miss Taiwan, China or Mongolia to win I guess, I wish to congratulate Amanda for her win. Anyway, she's still my favorite girl to win! :)

Miss Mongolia, Miss Taiwan and Miss China alongside Miss Malaysia were the most cheered by the crowd . Especially Miss Taiwan, she knows how to interact and made the crowd goes wild.

Miss Korea was another girl getting the most cheers!, she may not be the most beautiful but her cute smile made her among the favorite that night.

Miss India was almost "exploded". Her hot blue dress was among the sexiest in the event.

Some people in the crowd reacted negatively to some of the contestants by touching them which is to me was not so appropriate, but who to blame as the event was held in the crowded pub which is normal that we can expect something like that will happen. I was even got the warning from the guards for getting too near to Gabriella until Gaby need to explain to him "tak apa, tak apa, dia kawan saya", but to avoid further trouble, I just have to moved away from her after a super short greet, smiled and waved to each other from afar.

Miss Australia I believe having the best physique among all the contestants of Miss Tourism International this year.

MISS TOURISM INTERNATIONAL SINGAPORE AMANDA LEONG WINS HER SECOND SUBTITLE CROWN, MISS OVERTIME FRESH FACE BEAUTY 2011.

Miss Overtime Fresh Face is one of the subtitle up for grab under Miss Tourism International 2011 contest. This event was held last night at the Overtime Pub and Bistro Jalan Genting Kelang, Setapak. What a relief, as most of the events are held in Petaling Jaya area whereas this one is near my house.

This is the second subtitle wins for Amanada, who was also Miss Singapore Universe 2011 finalist last July. She also win Miss Sunway Charm last week. I believe she is already a shoe-in top 10 after getting her second trophies.

She was being sashed by the managing director of Overtime Pub and Bistro.

As a tradition of Overtime, the winner has to hit that pipe with starker hammer.

There were two rounds in this event, the first one being an introduction by every contestants in jeans and t shirt, while the second ones, the girls went out in cocktail dress.

These photos were taken yesterday, December 18, 2011 at the Miss Poh Kong Glamour 2011, a very important subtitle in this competition. She did not win this event but PAGEANTIsland still believe her chances to be among the top finishers. Since Philippines has been posting a pretty good record in this competition so I beleieve, there would be another top 5 in the card for the Philippines this year.

I dedicated her photos to her fans, families back home and pageant fans in general. She is as bright as sunshine and has already won a subtitle which is Miss Personality on December 17. Good enough to be included into top 10. Miss Poh Kong Glamour is among the most important sub title in Miss Tourism International as it has been here sponsoring the contest for nine years!. Every contestants scrambling to win this event as the winner will win expensive set of jewelry worth thousands of Ringgit and need to be declared with custom department at the airport to fly it out of the country I believe so.

The contestants were callled back to the stage for the third time and this was close to the announcement of winner moment. Carolina was here to receive her gift as among the participant.

She was here with Miss Guinea waiting for everyone to receive their gift and little did she knew that what was going to happen next, was going to be her moment of glory.

Yes she was looking to her left side looking at someone carrying a plate containing a sash.

Miss Turkey was the most gorgeous to me but I just doubting her personality as she was not as lively as the cute Miss Vietnam and ever smiling Miss Philippines.

Miss Singapore was among the huge favorite to win Miss Universe Singapore 2011 last July. I met her at the Miss Singapore Universe grand final night but did not say hi, but she smiled to my camera la (PAGEANTIsland perasan sekejap,kekekekke).

Miss Belarus, something about her that I like, her catwalk style! Among the most attractive contestant with her commanding height.

Portugal was represented by the very gorgeous Maria de Luz, a former Miss Venezuela finalist in last year's edition but this year, how I wish to know this lady more. Not among the most attractive but hopefully Miss Portugal would enjoy her experience competing in this contest.

Miss Vietnam, according to my good friend Donald Nguyen, was Miss Vietnam USA 2007. Her smile and personality light up the whole room, cute smile!

Would Panama win its first Miss Tourism title this year? This super beauty stands at 1.80cm tall, and hopefully she would come out victorious here.

In the photo above, Miss Singapore and Miss Kyrgystan were the most beautiful while Miss Portugal was the most intimidating?

Ah!..Miss Panama was my all time favorite here. She is as beautiful as her name, Carolina Brind.

Miss Indonesia's and Miss Mongolia's national costume were getting my attention the most. Miss Bosnia was very muslimah in her national costume.. :)

Miss Indonesia's creative heels, something Lady Gaga would be proud of to wear, I believe so.

Miss Turkey (in blue stripes) was among the most gorgeous in the whole contest while Miss Vietnam was the one with the cutest smile.

Miss Netherlands (behind miss Germany) was another stunner in this contest.

I was somehow attracted to Miss China, who I think was the cutest and Miss Czech Republic is my bet to win Miss Tourism International 2011, my reason?, "she just has it to win it" and Miss Estonia (behind Datuk Danny) another stunner to include in the top 10 or top 5.

Peacock dress, new idea, South American, Samba inspired, whatever you call it, Miss Indonesia Melissa Putri Latar came with a very fresh and interesting national costume!. Everyone in the room at the press conference was like wow! her costume was very interesting indeed, a bit uncommon like the usual Indonesian national costume when added with those peacock feathers. I would nominate this dress as the best national costume if I were a judge here.

A beautiful dress and its queen sitting pretty. Can you see that long gold nails? Interesting!.

She has to distance herseelf a bit as not to block camera view for the feathers.

Last year, Miss Mongolia wore a very interesting high boots and this year, Miss Indonesia came with another very interesting creation of batik inspired heels that I am sure Lady Gaga would be proud of if she could wear it!.

I was quite surprised to see Gaby's name in the list of Miss Tourism International 2011 contestants. After some short opening speech by the master of the ceremony (Datuk Mahathir Lokman), the guests were being told, it is time to announce who Malaysia representative is for the contest and surprise! surprise!, Aileen Gabriella Robinson, who was also the Miss Universe Malaysia 2011 1st runner up, came out from the back of the ballroom in a very fancy and eye catching Malaysian traditional costume!.

More than 500 guests gathered at Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur on Monday (November 28th)

evening to celebrate the Grand Finale of the Asia Model Festival Awards New Face Model

Search – Malaysia 2011, and bore witness as Wafa Johanna de Korte and Soo Xu Ze (ı ı ı ) was

announced as the female and male winners respectively.

Both of them, together with Kao Yu Ling (ı ı ı ) and Kurt Chin Ke Liang (ı ı ı ) – the female and

male runners-up respectively – has gotten the honour of representing Malaysia next year in

Seoul, Korea, to participate in the annual Asia New Face Model Search.

After over a month of whirlwind activities – which included live auditions; making their debut

appearance at a press conference; makeover session; personal training on posing by

supermodel Amber Chia; photo shoot challenges; training on runway walks by homegrown

catwalk guru Benjamin Toong; various boot camp challenges; as well as making their presence

known to the industry’s key figures at the opening party of Malaysia International Fashion Week

(MIFW) 2011 – it all came down to a grand finale show down.

In addition to the thirty percent from SMS voting, and thirty per cent from their boot camp

performances, the remaining forty per cent of the finalists’ final scores were given based on

their performances during the grand finale by judges Chia, Toong, and the esteemed panel

who flew in all the way from Korea - Chairman of the Korea Model Association Yang Eui-Sig,

President of the Korea Pro Makeup Association Ahn Mee-Ryu, and renowned Korean actress

and model Lee Hwa-Seon.

In a spectacular finale emceed by Daphne Iking, all fourteen finalists impressed the judges and

audiences by displaying three different runway walks worthy of professional models. The female

and male finalists first paraded beach wear by Roxy and Quiksilver respectively; followed by

casual wear by Salabianca and Philosophy Men; and finally, a battle of couture wear by Amir

Luqman for the females and Keith Kee Couture for the males.

Standing at 176cm in height, De Korte wowed everyone with exotic looks courtesy of her Malay

and Dutch parentage, and stood out like a runway veteran despite being just 17 years of age.

Soo, on the other hand, who is a 20 year old student of logistics and supply chain

management, charmingly won over the judges with his smouldering good looks and 186cm tall

frame.

Runner up Kao, 21, with her oriental good looks, exuded high fashion on the runway. This Johore

lass also stands at 176cm, and is currently studying business administration. As for Chin, he is 18

years of age and 184cm in height. This freelance model, who is looking into becoming a

property agent, displayed a confident and convincing performance on his journey to

becoming the male runner-up.

Additionally, just last weekend, both De Korte and Kao, along with all the other female finalists

also took on the runway for a “Tribute to Mickey and Friends” collection at the Malaysia

International Fashion Week (MIFW) 2011, with all the male finalists in attendance for support.

Besides getting to exclusively and prestigiously represent our country on an international level,

both De Korte and Soo will also be gracing the covers of leading entertainment and lifestyle

magazine FACES, and myc! – the largest inter-university lifestyle magazine. More than that, both

winners will walked away from the grand finale with prizes worth over RM100, 000 each.

These are Sheela (Miss Global International Malaysia 2011), Marlene Lim (Miss Global International 2010 2nd runners up), Kohinoor (Miss World Malaysia 2011 finalist) and her mother Dell. They were spotted after the Miss World Malaysia 2011 show at Sunway Convention Center. All of them looked super gorgeous despite not so much on make up and dress quite simply. I wish them good luck in their daily undertakings.
